About Us

Experienced professionals dedicated to helping property owners optimize casualty loss tax relief with clarity and confidence

Our Mission

Our mission is to help clients navigate complex financial decisions with clarity, care, and disciplined execution when property loss, insurance issues, and tax complexity intersect.

Our Story

Centura Consulting Services was created in response to the challenges property owners face when seeking compensation for casualty losses after Federally Declared Disasters.

A property owner facing outstanding casualty losses from hurricanes in Florida asked tax planning specialists at our affiliated company to help them navigate potential financial resources after their insurance claims had been exhausted. A team was formed to explore IRC §165, which allows property owners to claim uncompensated casualty losses from Federally Declared Disasters. We learned few professionals specialize in providing guidance on navigating the process.

Our team started building expertise in IRC 165 and was helping hurricane victims when the Palisades and Eaton wildfires occurred.

Drawing from the broader tax planning work developed by our affiliate, Centura Wealth Advisory, we worked quickly to clarify the financial and tax relief options available. We identified a tremendous void in accessible professional resources and founded Centura Consulting Services to help fill the gaps.

Our Commitment and Expertise

Technical Complexity

Casualty loss deductions involve intricate IRS rules, valuation requirements, and documentation standards. General tax preparers rarely encounter these situations. Our exclusive focus means we remain current on regulations and best practices.

Timing Is Critical

Property owners have limited windows of time to document losses, file insurance claims, and file tax returns under federal tax law. Our systematic process ensures nothing is missed and deadlines are met during stressful situations.

Multi-Advisor Coordination

Casualty loss documentation requires coordination between insurance adjusters, appraisers, contractors, and tax professionals. We serve as the central point of contact, ensuring all parties provide the information needed for IRS compliance.

Valuation Expertise

Determining the decrease in fair market value requires specialized knowledge. We work with qualified appraisers who understand IRS requirements and can defend their valuations if questioned.

Compassionate Service

We understand that disaster recovery is emotionally and financially challenging. Our team provides patient, clear guidance to reduce property owners’ stress.

The only real help I have received has been [from] Centura’s team.”
